PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contour correction circuit which can make the contour sharp, by using primary differential instead of secondary differential, without causing pre-shooting nor overshooting before and after the contour. SOLUTION: In a normalizer device 5, an input signal is divided by the maximum rating of the signal to output the normalized signal K, which goes to an encoding circuit 6. In the cases of K>0, K=0, or K<0, their output signals become Ka, Kb, or Kc, respectively. In an adder 10, these signals, (Ka*a), (Kb*b), and (Kc*c) are added to be tilted sharply and corrected in the contour. The output signal does not cause pre-shooting nor overshooting before and after the contour.
