PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the influence of the linear fault of a deflecting magnetic field caused by a horizontal deflection coil and a vertical deflection coil on the geometry of an image. SOLUTION: A deflection yoke for a cathode tube has at least a pair of saddle type coils (4) which form an asymmetrical front conductor assembly (25). The asymmetry is created by a depression (40) located inside or outside a bunch of conductors forming the conductor assembly or by at least one metal piece (43) provided near the front conductor assembly.
