PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a response speed of a liquid crystal in a liquid crystal display device by a simple configuration and operation. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with a means for obtaining a difference value between an input video signal and that of one preceding field, a means for selecting any of plural coefficients according to this difference value and obtaining a correction value by multiplying the difference value by this selected coefficient, a means for obtaining a corrected video signal by adding this correction value to the input video signal, and a means for displaying a picture based on this corrected video signal. Thus, since the correction value can be obtained by such a simple processing that the difference value is multiplied by the coefficient selected according to the difference in the input video signal between the preceding and the current field, the correction can be carried out with a simple configuration, and the response speed of the liquid crystal can be improved at a low cost.
