PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which is capable of performing simpler and more rapid development processing and removing a trouble occurring in the development processing while having the advantages of a digital printer. SOLUTION: This image forming method consists of imparting a desensitizing agent to silver halide photosensitive materials just prior to color development, reading the color developed dyestuff images on the photosensitive materials in correspondence to the spectral sensitivity of the photosensitive materials during or just prior to color development by an image sensor and recording the images on another recording medium.
