A display output method and display device. The method comprises: converting three-channel data of each of pixel points in a to-be-displayed target image into four-channel data; for a pixel point having a chromaticity difference between the post-conversion four-channel data and the pre-conversion three-channel data satisfying a preset adjustment condition, reducing a ratio of a numerical value in the added channel for the post-conversion four-channel data with respect to the pre-conversion three-channel data to obtain adjusted four-channel data, and utilizing the adjusted four-channel data for display output; and for the pixel points in the target image other than the pixel points having the four-channel data adjusted, utilizing the post-conversion four-channel data for display output. Thereby, the chromaticity difference of the conversion is reduced. |
