PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the point at issue such that control is not performed with respect to the irregularity of a glaze layer largely contributing to the heat efficiency (heat accumulation) in a thermal head, that is, the perforation energy supplied to the individual heating elements of the thermal head corresponding to the thickness of the glaze layer is not adjusted and, therefore, the density of a printing image or various qualities such as set off or the like become easy to differ at every plate making and printing apparatus. SOLUTION: In a plate making apparatus 35 for thermally applying plate making to a master 12 using the thermal head 30 equipped with a plurality of heating elements 7 arranged in a main scanning direction and the glaze layer 3, an energy adjusting means 28 for adjusting the perforation energy supplied to the individual heating elements 7 of the thermal head 30 to predetermined energy corresponding to the thickness of the glaze layer 3 of the thermal head is provided.
