PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve system of an engine capable of automatically determining a distance between an axial line of a rocker shaft and a contact point of a rocker arm and a valve stem when a distance between the rocker shaft and a valve is made constant. SOLUTION: In the valve system of the engine provided with the rocker arm 13 supported on the rocker shaft 12 and oscillated by a cam shaft 14 to bring an oscillating end part of the rocker arm 13 in contact with an end part of the stem 4b of the valve 4, a flat face 17 is formed in the oscillating end part of the rocker arm 13, and a projecting spherical face 8 in contact with the flat face 17 is formed in the end part of the stem 4b of the valve 4 so that the center O of the spherical face is on an axial line A of the valve 4.
