PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional telephone exchange system that cannot have recognized a caller number and a caller name corresponding to each incoming call unit each incoming call is replied even on the occurrence of incoming calls. SOLUTION: The telephone exchange system 1 is provided with station line trunks 12 connected to a telephone network 11 and with many multi-function phones 13 each having a station line button 36 and a display section 35 corresponding to each station line trunk. Each multi-function phone 13 is provided with a main storage device 19 that temporarily stores a caller number with respect to an incoming call from the telephone network 11 to its caller information area 19D corresponding to each station line trunk 12 receiving an incoming call when each multi-function phone 13 detects an incoming call from the telephone network 11. When each multi-function phone 13 detects an operation of a station button 36 corresponding to the station line trunk 12 receiving an incoming call at present, each multi-function phone 13 retrieves a caller number relating to the station line trunk 12 corresponding to the station line button 36 from the main storage device 19 and displays the retrieved caller number on its display section 35 before replying to the incoming call.
