PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional line test system that has had a system configuration with bad economy because the conventional line test system is respectively and independently provided to an exchange and an xDSL(x-Digital Subscriber Line) subscriber accommodation facility although the exchange and the xDSL subscriber accommodation facility uses the same subscriber line. SOLUTION: In the line test system of this invention, when execution of a line test under the designation of an accommodation position of an xDSL subscriber circuit 9 is instructed to a maintenance terminal 4 at an exchange A side, a correlated POTS(plain old telephone service) subscriber circuit 6 connected to the same subscriber line 101 as that of the xDSL subscriber circuit 9 uses a subscriber test unit 7 at the exchange A side to execute the test. The test result by the subscriber test unit 7 is displayed on the maintenance terminal 4 as a test result of the xDSL subscriber circuit 9 resulting that the exchange A side realizes the test of the xDSL subscriber. Thus, only the subscriber test unit 7 at the POTS side exchange facility can conduct the subscriber line test of the xDSL subscriber circuit 9.
