PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection yoke capable of reducing deflection power and manufacturing costs and lowering the heat and a cathode-ray tube device provided with the yoke. SOLUTION: A vacuum envelope of a cathode-ray tube has an approximately truncated pyramid shape yoke fitting part. The deflection yoke 14 fitted to the yoke fitting part is mounted symmetrically to a center axis to form an approximately truncated pyramid shaped pair of straddling horizontal deflecting coils 30a, 30b. A circular truncated cone shaped magnetic core 34 is mounted coaxially on the outer circumference of the horizontal deflection coil for having a pair of vertical deflecting coils wound toroidally on the magnetic core. In the direction of vertical axis orthogonal to the center axis, the relation of a gap (vf) between an end on the large diameter side of the magnetic ore and the horizontal deflection coil with a gap (vr) between an end on the small diameter side of the magnetic core and the horizontal deflection coil is set to be vf>=vr.
