PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for executing various polling agent functions in a client management tool. SOLUTION: A user in a central manager 82 is asked to select either of a central polling function 98 or a stationary polling function to collect client management data from many computer objects. Furthermore, the polling agent function can distinguish important data from unimportant data and decide proper transmission intervals of data.
