PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operational efficiency by preventing the end of a bit from disconnecting from a cross recess in a screw during screw tightening. SOLUTION: This tightening tool includes a pressing means for pressing an intermittent torque generating mechanism 4 or the bit 6 against the side 1 opposite to a drive by use of reaction produced when the tool tightens a screw. The pressing means is provided within a power transfer path extending from a speed reduction mechanism part 3 to the bit 6.
