PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile in which secrecy can be sustained at the time of communicating with a computer. SOLUTION: The facsimile communicates with a computer through a network (S4, 26) and the computer designates the facsimile to perform facsimile communication. The facsimile comprises means (S10, 20) for creating a cipher key based on its inherent information and the inherent information of the opposite facsimile, means (S24, 28) for ciphering data transmitted to the computer (S26) using the cipher key, and means (S12) for deciphered data received from the computer (S4) using the ciphering key.
