PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat insulating performance of the vacuum heat insulating container part of a observation device for the inside of a cryostat by improving the structure of an observation window in an image pickup device for the inside of the cryostat and also to improve the sensitivity of the device by securing the sufficient area of the observation window. SOLUTION: The vacuum heat insulating container part 10a of the image pickup device for the inside of a cryostat is constituted by incorporating a CCD camera 11, an optical zoom lens 12 and a circuit board 16 in a vacuum heat insulating container 15 surrounded by a heat insulating layer 15a. Then disk-like glass window material 18 is brazed and fixed on both the inside and the outside of a cylindrical aperture part 17 made of metal of the observation window 13.
