PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate steam using clean water without requiring holding water. SOLUTION: A number of small pieces of heating mediums 2 are accommodated in a steam generating vessel 3. The heating mediums are heated by a heating means 7, and then water is supplied, through a water pipe 13, to the gaps made between the heated heating mediums. Water that has come into contact with the heated heating mediums instantly turns to steam, and the steam, while being heated, ascends through the gaps made between the heating mediums to gradually raise temperature. Since the steam incessantly collides with the heating mediums and ascends, the pressure rising is not so high compared with the temperature rising. Also, since water comes into contact with the heated heating mediums and is turned into steam, no water supply process is required as in a boiler.
