PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety pneumatic tire, simply structured, allowing easy manufacturing and rim assembling with low material cost, and excellent in fuel saving performance and safety. SOLUTION: A hollow core 2 which is reinforced over all the circumference of its cross section by a reinforcing layer 2b comprising knitted cords so as not to substantially increase in volume is disposed inside a tubeless tire 1 and separate from an inner circumferential surface of a tread part 1a of the tire, keeping the internal pressure of the core 2 nearly at the same level as the working pressure of the tire while the ratio of the core height h under inflation pressure to the maximum height H of the inner circumferential surface inside the tread part at 1/3<=h/H<=4/5.
