METHOD FOR AWAITING INCOMING CALL AT PHS TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PHS terminal that can select one of many communication modes and that can be in operation under the selected mode without especially notifying the communication modes to users. SOLUTION: When a seamless waiting mode is set, by executing seamless transition between registered communication modes, the user needs not to make revision operation for the waiting mode setting. The seamless transition is made on the basis of the reception signal quality such as the reception electric field strength in each communication mode. For example, when the reception electric field strength of a control channel in a public mode awaited by a user is lower than a selection level X+Y in the public mode and also when the reception electric field strength in a PA(Power Antenna) mode is higher than a waiting storage level X in the PA mode, searching of a waiting destination in the PA mode is started. When the reception electric field strength in the PA mode gets higher than a selection level X+Y in the PA mode while the reception electric field strength in the public mode exceeds a waiting storage level X in the public mode, the state is automatically shifted to the waiting in the PA mode.
