Process for producing fluorinated alcohol

A process for producing a fluorinated alcohol which attains improved working efficiency and is effective in efficiently heightening the yield. The process comprises reacting an alcohol with a fluoroolefin in the presence of a free-radical initiator, distilling the resultant reaction product without decomposing the free-radical initiator to recover the alcohol and the free-radical initiator, and recycling to the reaction the alcohol and free-radical initiator recovered.
