PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a temperature distribution uniform in the direction of the rotary shaft of a rotor in a fixation nip part, and to reduce the temperature rise of an exciting coil, as for an electromagnetic induction heating system fixing device. SOLUTION: As for the fixing device for carrying the recording material 11 and melt-sticking an unfixed toner image T on the recording material 11 so as to fix the image at the fixation nip part N, the device is provided with a heat roller 1 and an induction heating means 6 equipped with the exciting coil 7 which is wound around the outer peripheral surface of the heat roller 1 so that the distance from the coil to the rotary axis of the heat roller 1 may be varied, and for heating the heat roller 1 by the electromagnetic induction, and a pressure roller 4 which is brought into press contact with a heat resistant belt 3 which is heated by the heat roller 1, and then, rotated forward so as to form the fixation nip part N.
