PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supplying conductive balls by which problems at the same of ball mounting operations can be prevented. SOLUTION: Concerning the method for supplying conductive balls while the conductive balls are aligned with respect to a mounting head, before attracting the balls housed in recesses 15a of an alignment section 15 by the mounting head, excessive balls on the alignment section 15 are detected by receiving light emitted from a phototransmitter 22a by a photoreceptor 22b with moving posts 17 by a moving mechanism 8. After attracting operations of the mounting head, balls which are not attracted and remain in the recesses 15a are detected in the same way. In this way, errors in ball mounting can be prevented.
