METHOD FOR SOUND REINFORCEMENT INCLUDING CURRENT CONTROL OF ELECTRODYNAMIC LOUDSPEAKER AND POWER AMPLIFIER FOR ACTIVE ACOUSTIC SYSTEMS

SUBSTANCE: input signal is applied simultaneously to two power amplifiers and current is passed through electrodynamic loudspeaker from output of voltage-controlling power amplifier to that of current-controlling power amplifier; the latter is switched over to current-consumption mode by inverting input signal. Input signal applied to current-controlling power amplifier is passes in addition through correcting filter whose frequency response compensates for impedance frequency response of electrodynamic loudspeaker in operating frequency range. In the process nonlinear and intermodulation distortions on loudspeaker are greatly reduced and main power is supplied to loudspeaker from voltage amplifier which can operate at reduced power requirement.
