PURPOSE: A method for confirming a status of an exchange system subscriber is provided to confirm a status of a subscriber included in another exchange system by applying a QSIG protocol to an exchange system, and by making and using a message for confirming a status of the subscriber included in the exchange system. CONSTITUTION: In case that a telephone number of a subscriber is inputted using an internal terminal(S401), the telephone number is transmitted to a call control unit. The call control unit receives the telephone and judges whether the number is registered in an exchange system(S402). In case that the number isn't registered, a status request message is made(S403). A QSIG (Q Signaling) supplementary call control unit receives the message and remakes the message suitable for a QSIG protocol(S404). A QSIG 3-layer processing unit encodes the message(S405). In addition, the QSIG 3-layer processing unit transmits the message to another exchange system through an interface unit(S406). The processing unit receives the message encoded(S407). After that, the processing unit decodes and transmits the message(S408). The QSIG supplementary call control unit receives the message(S409). The control unit transmits the message to a call control unit(S410). The control unit displays a present status of a subscriber(S411). A QSIG 3-layer processing unit of another exchange system receives the request message(S412) and decodes the message(S413). A QSIG supplementary control unit searches subscriber information tables(S414). A call control unit confirms a present status of a subscriber(S415). In addition, the call control unit makes a status information message(S416) and transmits the message to the QSIG 3-layer processing unit(S417). The processing unit receives and encodes the message(S418). In addition, the processing unit transmits the message to the exchange system(S419).
