PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting device which has achieved compactness and high rigidity in an installation floor area and in a height direction.SOLUTION: In a lifting device 10, a screw shaft 22 is orthogonal with respect to an assumption line X for connecting a center P of a support rod 30 and a center Q of a support rod 40 in the horizontal direction, and disposed at a position having equal distance with respect to the centers P, Q of the support rods 30, 40. A work mounting base 21 faces a vertical direction on the opposite side from the screw shaft 22 with respect to the assumption line for connecting the centers P, Q of the support rods 30, 40. A guide member 50 is provided for guiding the work mounting base 21 to both support rods 30, 40. A gear box G connected to the screw shaft 22 is installed outside of each range of the support rods 30, 40.
