PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electrophotographic photoreceptor more excellent in durability than a conventional one because it has an inorganic surface protecting layer less liable to cause cracking and peeling in a practical service environment and due to long-term storage and excellent in physical stability. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by stacking an organic photosensitive layer and an inorganic surface protecting layer in this order and at least the top part of the organic photosensitive layer brought into contact with the surface protecting layer contains a sulfone derivative of formula (1) [where R1 and R2 are the same or different and each halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, carboxyl, ester or hydroxyl and (n) and (m) are the same or different and each an integer of 0-4] or formula (2) [where R3 is aryl, cycloalkyl or a heterocyclic group and R4 is H or alkyl].
