PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an offset phenomenon caused under a fixed condition by eliminating trouble that a releasing agent gets insufficient in a thermal fixing means such as a thermal fixing roller under a fixed condition. SOLUTION: In this fixing device, a releasing agent coating means 34 performs auxiliary coating operation when the temperature of the thermal fixing roller 31 is lower than previously set temperature until the roller 31 attains fixing temperature by operating a roller driving means M and a roller heating means 25 again for the purpose of fixation after stopping the driving operation of the driving means M and the heating operation of the heating means 25 for the purpose of fixation.
