PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device suited for using a recording material incapable of neglecting the humidity dependency from its performance and capable of miniaturizing the size. SOLUTION: This image recording device forming a recording image corresponding to image data on a thermosensitive recording material is characterized in retaining, at least, a hermetically closable magazine storing the thermosensitive recording material and a waiting passage separate from a major carrier passage for temporarily waiting the thermosensitive recording material taken out from the magazine. It is preferable that this device is provided with a switch means between the major carrier passage and the waiting passage also served as a takeout means for taking out the thermosensitive recording material from the magazine.
