PURPOSE: To provide a touch panel device on which a plurality of input IDTs and output IDTs can be totally disposed in a row, permitting to narrow the installation area for them and to widen the effective position sensing area. CONSTITUTION: This touch panel device has, in correspondence with a plurality of tracks, a plurality of input IDT2s for energizing elastic surface wave and a plurality of output IDT3s for receiving the elastic surface wave. Each input IDT2 has an electrode structure of broad band, and each output IDT3 has a structure of matched filter that produces a large output if a specific binary signal train is received. To each input IDT2, a signal that a plurality of specific binary signal trains are arranged in time series is impressed.
