METHOD FOR DETERMINING TRANSFER TO USTS MODE IN RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for determining the transfer to a USTS(Uplink Synchronous Transmission Scheme) mode in a radio communication system is provided to minimize the generation of service failure and a lowering of call quality by suppressing a mobile station's unnecessary conversion to a USTS mode in case that the mobile station makes an initial registration for a network or registers for a new network after completing a handoff. CONSTITUTION: In case that a mobile station newly registers for an asynchronous radio network or makes a new registration after executing a handoff(201), the mobile station judges whether the new asynchronous radio network supports a USTS(202). If it is judged that the new asynchronous radio network supports the USTS, the mobile station checks a necessary SF(Spreading Factor)(203). If the necessary SF is 256, the mobile station analyzes a necessary QoS(Quality of Service) and judges whether it is suitable for the USTS(204). If the required QoS is suitable for the USTS, the mobile station measures its mobility and judges whether it is a low mobility(205).
