PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved refrigeration system, which resolves one or more problems in the conventional art. SOLUTION: Refrigerant exiting the orifice 32 enters the chamber 62. Due to the difference in the concentration, the refrigerant separates into gas-phase refrigerant above the level 70, and liquid-phase refrigerant below the level 70. The lubricant level 66 is above the lower open end 78 of the capillary tube 74. Consequently, gas-phase refrigerant passing through an outlet 38 of a phase separator passes by the upper end 76 of capillary tube 74, and draws lubricant through the capillary tube 74 out of the upper end 76. The lubricant is discharged into the vapor stream passing through the outlet 38 and reaches the suction 52. The lubricant having passed through the junction 52 passes together with the refrigerant through a suction line heat exchanger 20, and ultimately reaches the inlet 12 of a compressor 10.
