PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately recognize even an image deformed in sector or trapezoidal shape. SOLUTION: This image processing device comprises a reference image database for storing the image, previously deformed in sector or trapezoidal shape, of a rectangular document; an image buffer for storing the image; and a comparing means for evaluating the degree of similarity between the image in the image buffer and the image in the reference image database.
