PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk apparatus capable of moving an optical head to a destination position on an optical disk in a short time. SOLUTION: When a track interval between the destination position on the optical disk and a current position of the optical head is equal to zero or less than a prescribed value (S105), and when the current position is in an inner circumferential position of the destination position such that the time required for jumping one track is within a time t, the number of moving tracks is caused to be zero by a control means (S113), and track jumping is not performed. When the current position is in an outer circumferential position of the destination position, or when the current position is in an inner circumferential position of the destination position such that the time required for jumping one track is not within a time t, a second number of moving tracks x2 or a third number of moving tracks x3 is of obtained (S110, S112), and track jumping is performed.
