PURPOSE: An image sensor is provided to selectively operate flip-flops included in each of stage groups, thereby reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A pixel array(100) includes many unit pixels for storing data. A row selecting decoder(120) selects a row of the pixel array to output the data from predetermined unit pixels. Sample/hold circuits(140) sample the data to hold the sampled data for a predetermined time. A shift register(200) sequentially shifts signals for sequentially outputting the held data as video signals, and supplies the signals to the sample/hold circuits. The shift register comprises as follows. Many clock generators generate clock signals in response to an external signal and the shifted signals. Many stage groups have many shift stages for sequentially shifting the signals in response to the clock signals. Each of the stage groups is connected to sequentially output the signals, and is selectively enabled by the clock signals. |
