METHOD FOR POLYMERIZING ALPHA OLEFIN

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing an alpha olefin polymer or copolymer having high stereoregularity in high yield while controlling a molecular weight distribution of the olefin polymer or copolymer. CONSTITUTION: The method is characterized in that catalyst system comprising components (a)-(c) is used for polymerization of an alpha olefin: (a) solid titanium catalyst produced by the substeps (a1)-(a3) of (a1) dissolving a magnesium halide compound and a compound of group IIIA in a mixture solvent of cyclic ether, 1 or more of alcohol, phosphorus compound, and organic silane to produce a solution of magnesium compound, (a2) reacting the solution with transition metal compound, silicon compound or mixture thereof to precipitate solid particles, and (a3) reacting the precipitated solid particles with titanium compound and electron donor; (b) organometallic compound of group III metal; and (c) outer electron donor comprising 3 or more of organic silicon compounds.
