PURPOSE: A network device memory resource management method in a network management system is provided to manage a load state of the network device by using information on an amount of use of memory resources used practically in the network device besides information on a traffic or congestion state, thereby capable of replacing the device and memory when generating a network fault caused by the lack of memory resources. CONSTITUTION: An SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) checks an amount of use of a memory in the device(S31) and thereafter stores and manages the information as a management information database(S32). When a manager requests the information, the SNMP transmits the information to the manager in response to the request(S33). The manager confirms whether the amount of use of the memory reaches at a critical value(S34). When the amount of use of the memory reaches at a critical value, the manager displays an overload state to the network manager(S35). When the amount of use of the memory does not reach at a critical value, the manager displays the load state of the network device as a normal state(S36).
