PURPOSE: A channel occupation management method in a multi connection wireless packet data system is provided to notify the channel occupation state from a base station to a terminal station, thereby capable of reducing the complexity of the terminal station and performing a data transmission/reception directly between terminal stations. CONSTITUTION: Energy is measured in a signal received from the base station and thereafter it is discriminated whether the measured energy is above a constant level(ST21,ST22). Thereafter, if the measured energy is above a constant level, it is discriminated that the terminal station occupies a channel(ST23). Thereafter, if the measured energy is not above a constant level, it is discriminated that the channel is in idle state(ST24).
