PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display unit capable of increasing the number of columns and the number of rows for displaying characters and structure in which the control button of a display surface can be operated smoothly and the handling of connection cables is satisfactory and also the mounting efficiency of a circuit board is high. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display unit is provided with a magnified display area 20M2 formed by magnified electrode column patterns 21P61 to 21P80 and magnified electrode row patterns 22P12 to 22P162 to be electrically connected to fundamental electrode row patterns 21P1 to 21P60 with through holes 26a, 26b. Moreover, a control button guiding hole guiding a display surface control button is bored in a vertical direction in a liquid crystal display cover and a circuit board having holes for fixing to be bored at one edge part and parts to be engaged which are to be provided at the other edge part is fixed to a base case having reinforcing ribs which are formed at downward side than the upper-part outer peripheral part of a board mounting surface so as to receive the clamping stresses of a board fixing screw with collar.
