PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily access the opposite side terminal in using an Internet telephone. SOLUTION: A calling side terminal 11 and the opposite side terminal 12 transmit IP addresses given temporarily from provider computers 13 and 14 together with their user IDs to a Internet telephone station 20 at the time of connecting the terminals 11 and 12 themselves to the Internet. The telephone station 20 makes the respective IP addresses correspond to the user IDs respectively to record the IP addresses in a telephone directory database 232. The terminal 11 transmits the user ID of the opposite speech party to the telephone station 20. The telephone station 20 extracts the IP address of the terminal 12 from the database 232 and connects the station 20 itself to the terminal 12 to inquire whether or not to be communicable. When the terminal 12 is communicable, the telephone station 20 transmits the IP address of the terminal 12 to the terminal 11.
