PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an irreversible circuit element that is downsized as a whole to have a low height and reduced weight and whose characteristics deterioration is suppressed and to provide a communication unit provided with the irreversible circuit element. SOLUTION: A ferrite assembly 1 formed by cross-winding insulation coated copper wires on a rectangular ferrite plate is placed perpendicularly onto a mount face of a mount board 5 and magnets 3a, 3b, which apply a static magnetic field in a direction perpendicular to the major side of the ferrite, are placed to both side positions on the board 5 with the ferrite assembly 1 in between.
