PARTICLE SIZE MEASURING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle size measuring apparatus to allow accurately measuring by using a method for measuring a particle size of an object by image processing. SOLUTION: Coal 1 is carried by a belt conveyor 2. A surface of the coal 1 is not flat and uneven. A particle size adjusting plate 3 is installed on the belt conveyor 2 and always uniforms the surface of the coal 1 on the belt conveyor 2. The uniformed surface of the coal 1 is not uneven and always keeps a stable level. Since a distance between the surface of the object and an image pickup apparatus is constant and an actual particle size corresponds to a particle size of a pickup image, the particle size can be accurately measured by the image processing. A CCD camera 4 is installed near the surface of the coal 1. The clear image of a small particle size of the coal 1 is obtained. The obtained image is inputted to an image processing apparatus 5. A particle size distribution is measured by the image processing.
