PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a spark plug for eliminating waste of energy consumption, preventing the outflow of molten metal in a process of welding a noble metal chip to an electrode, and obtaining a welding part having a uniform width. SOLUTION: When forming the whole peripheral laser welding part 10 straddling a noble metal chip 31' and a chip fixing object surface forming part to a superposed assembly 70 by superposing a chip fixing object surface 3s of a central electrode 3 and the noble metal chip 31', and successively superposing and continuing unit welding parts 101 to 112 corresponding to respective laser irradiating pulses P1 to P12, corrective irradiation energy Eh used when forming the welding parts resulting in increasing the ovelap number of the unit welding parts 101 to 112 among the whole peripheral laser welding part 10, is set lower than ordinary irradiation energy Et used when forming the other welding part to eliminate waste of the energy consumption. Here, at least one of the forefront welding part 10t and the tail end welding part 10e is selected as the welding parts resulting in increasing the overlap number.
