PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tile strength tester and a testing method thereof capable of testing a load applied onto a tile in the same state as that at the time of construction. SOLUTION: In the strength tester 10 for tile 20, the back surface of a tile 20 is supported or fixed by a supporting rod 101, a support plate 102, and a fixing metal fixture 12, and the front surface of the tile 20 is pressed by a pressing rod 11. The support rod 101 and the support plate 102 are mounted to inclination-free receiving bases 103 and 104 and arranged at locations, capable of supporting the end parts of the back surface of the tile 20. The fixing metal fixture 12 is provided at a location for holding down one end 202 of the tile. One end 203 of the back surface of the tile 20, inclined in a roof gradient, is supported by the support rod 101, and its midpoint is supported by the support plate 102; the edge of the other end 202 is fixed by the fixing metal fixture 12; and the surface of the tile 20 is pressed by the pressing rod 11.
