PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that is used for a larger-sized display section of a small-sized device such as a mobile phone and a mobile information terminal and that can easily be carried. SOLUTION: Thin plates 3a, 3b made of nearly tabular inelastic members are adhered to a backside of a flexible display section 2 having a visible side, and the thin plates 3a, 3b are connected by elastic pieces 4a, 4b made of a high-polymer film liquid crystal that is bent while keeping a prescribed interval from the display section 2 in matching with the bent of the display section 2 so that the display section 2 having the bendable and visible side can be bent and contracted, compactly.
