摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the increase of force for releasing latch. SOLUTION: This device is provided with: a bimetal 4 inserted into a current carrying path and having a fixed end on one end side and a free end on the other end, a first iron core 1 having both-side pieces 1a disposed on both widthwise sides of the bimetal 4 and a connection piece 1b for connecting the both-side pieces 1a with each other on one surface side in the thickness direction of the bimetal 4, and a second iron core 2 disposed on the other surface side in the thickness direction of the bimetal 4 to be faced to the first iron core 1 for forming a magnetic path for passing magnetic flux generated by a current passing through the bimetal 4 along with the first iron core 1. The device is so structured that a latch part 2a latched by an operation plate 20 is formed on either the iron core 1 or the iron core 2, contacts 9a and 10a, and contacts 9b and 10b are forcibly opened by releasing the latch when an excessive current or a large current is carried, and the moving direction of the operation plate 20 intersects with that of the iron core 2 at an acute angle.
