PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of scrolling of a screen display. SOLUTION: A CPU 10 computes the tilt condition (the direction and the amount of the tilt) of a portable information terminal device 1 based on tilt detection signals received from a tilt sensor 16. For the period when a scroll switching key in an inputting operation section 13 is turned on, the tilt condition based on the tilt condition when the key is turned on from an off state is computed, the direction of the scrolling is determined by the direction of the tilt and the speed of the scrolling is determined by the amount of the tilt. When the amount of the tilt exceeds a threshold value, the display contents located at the end section of the scrolling direction among the information contents to be displayed on a liquid crystal panel 3 are displayed.
