PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commutator and a manufacturing method therefor, capable of minimizing the motor noise. SOLUTION: In this commutator and a manufacturing method therefor, this commutator is provided with a first and a second connecting parts 30a3, 30a4 formed into a substantially annular shape on both ends thereof, and a resin part which is formed into a cylindrical shape by integral formation on a base material having commutator piece base parts 30a2 separated with slits 30a1 and which supports the commutator piece base parts 30a2, on the inner periphery of the base material. By cutting off the first and the second connecting parts 30a3, 30a4 after the resin part is formed, the commutator piece base parts 30a2 are made into commutator pieces insulated respectively.
