PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control method and device that decreases number of times of access to a display memory by writing still image data subjected to change to a memory storing display data only when the still image data of a succeeding frame are subjected to change. SOLUTION: Still image data stored in a display memory are compared with still image data of a succeeding frame to discriminate whether or not they are coincident (521), when the discrimination indicates noncoincidence, the display memory stores the still image data of the succeeding frame (522). When the discrimination denotes coincidence, moving image data in the display memory are updated (525).
