PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord housing opening at a periphery part of a sensor mounting pillar so that a cord of a photo-electric sensor may not be a hindrance in passing the cord inside the sensor mounting pillar. SOLUTION: With the sensor mounting device fitted with a hollow sensor- mounting pillar 2 mounted on equipment through a pillar-supporting member 1 and holding a sensor 24 with the sensor mounting pillar 2, a cord housing opening 12 is provided at a periphery part of the sensor mounting pillar 2 for inserting a cord 25 equipped with the sensor 24 into the inside of the sensor mounting pillar 2, to unite a mounting flange part 1A for mounting the pillar- supporting member 1 on the equipment, and the pillar-supporting member 1 is provided with a first pillar-inserting hole part 5 for fitting the sensor mounting pillar 2 in parallel with a fitting face 1B of the mounting flange part 1A and a second pillar-inserting hole part 8 for fitting the sensor mounting pillar 2 at right angles with the fitting face 1B of the mounting flange part 1A.
