PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a reproducing operation corresponding to a recording medium recorded with group management information. SOLUTION: A recording medium for recoding contents signals and additional information for managing the contents signals for every track is used. When group management information for grouping the signals recorded in the additional information of the recording medium in a track unit is included, and a group is designated in an ST31, pieces of music in the group are reproduced in the order of the music number in the group in an ST34. When the reproduction of all the pieces of music in the group is not ended in an ST38, the process is advanced to an ST39, and the reproduction of the next piece of music is operated. When the reproduction of all the pieces of music in the group is ended, the reproducing operation is stopped in an ST40. Thus, only the tracks in the designated group are reproduced so that the reproducing operation corresponding to the recording medium in which the group management information is recorded can be realized.
