PURPOSE: A method for screen quality optimization via gamma control is provided to estimate and control the gamma of other company system by using histogram, thereby controlling the brightness of the PIP images and the screen quality. CONSTITUTION: A method for screen quality optimization via gamma control includes the steps of computing a camera gamma value and a display gamma value in case of picture communication, determining the connection between systems by comparing and analyzing the computed gamma value and display gamma value with own company system, displaying a PIP screen by improving the screen quality and controlling the brightness of the screen by employing the gamma for company A or B if the own system is connected to the system of company A or B, and displaying the PIP screen by improving the screen quality and controlling the brightness of the screen by employing the gamma of the own company when the own company systems are connected to each other.
