PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the excessive liquid back of refrigerant to an accumulator as well as the pressure increase of high pressure side of a refrigerant circuit and obtain the shortening of a defrosting operation time as well as comfortable air-conditioned environment, in an air conditioner provided with a heat source machine equipped with a plurality of compressors, four-way switching valves, heat exchangers, accumulators and choking devices. SOLUTION: When at least one set of a plurality of heat source machines requires defrosting operation upon heating operation, the four-way switching valve, provided in the refrigerant circuit of the heat source machine, is switched whereby the heat source machine side heat exchanger is operated as a condenser and the indoor machine side heat exchanger is operated as an evaporator thereby switching the refrigerant circuit into defrosting operation while the amount of ventilation of an indoor machine side fan is changed when the mixed operating condition of heating operation and defrosting operation is realized as the whole of the device.
